Just checking in for the married guys on Anthony’s “leave me alone” day. I ask for that every father’s day (I’ve got 2 toddlers running around, and a third one due any day now). My wife’s answer usually goes something like this: “That’s fine, we’ll leave you alone. The girls and I will be out of here by around 10 if you help us get ready, and then they’ll go down for their nap at 1 or so. I can go food shopping while they’re asleep and you can listen for them. And what time do you want to go to my parents for dinner so I can see my dad? Last thing, can you put away the laundry, get those boxes up to the attic and sweep out the garage with all of your free time?” I don’t think she appreciates the concept.
Always remember, if I get a real leave me alone day, I can grill my own damned steak.
