Strangly enough, C-4’s composition is C3H6N6O6 chemically named cyclotrimethylene-trinitramine, doesn’t have 4 carbon atoms. I thought that was strange. Why isn’t it called C3?

Nice chemistry! C-4, because it’s the fourth in a series of plastic explosives: C, C-2, C-3… I learned this in a holiday camp in the Libyan desert in the early 80s.
