Tanner helps SMBs with sources of structured funding for working capital needs, and secured loans for individuals buying new or used automobiles. As part of their commitment to providing security and maximum uptime, Tanner had a complex internal system and was reliant on an external party for alerting.

In Squadcast, Tanner found a partner that gave them the control over the alerting process and insights into their reliability metrics. Squadcast is used by Tanner’s DevOps and support engineers to manage their complex digital infrastructure and maintain the high levels of security and uptime expected by their customers.

Reliant on external dependencies for alerting: Prior to implementing Squadcast, Tanner had external dependencies for alerting on service outages. This required the external vendor to have access to internal systems.

Alerting is now in-house: With the help of Squadcast, Tanner is no longer reliant on external vendors for alerting and monitoring  purposes.

Lack of proper Scheduling: Tanner didn't have access to a proper tool that could help with their varied schedules requirement of their on-call engineers.

Better Scheduling and Escalation policies: With Squadcast’s highly configurable team scheduling and escalation policies, it became possible for Tanner to alert specific support engineers or teams depending on the severity of the problem, thus reducing MTTA drastically.

Lack of Alert prioritisation: Tanner’s on-call engineers were getting alerts of varying severity delivered via emails.There was a strong need to have a system of alert prioritisation in place.

Alert prioritisation and Routing: With smarter routing and diverse deduplication modes, there is reduction in time to acknowledge since engineers get alerted only on relevant events of specific severity.

A complex internal system: Tanner is reliant on a number of external data sources for their business functioning. This includes several APIs conveying sensitive financial information and updates.

Making sense of a complex system: Squadcast helps by aggregating diverse data sources and giving a central dashboard for monitoring the health of their system, helping Tannner’s DevOps and on-call engineers keep track of the system in real-time.

Lack of visibility of team performance: Before Squadcast, no metrics were in place to measure reliability and team productivity of on-call engineers.

Discoverability of Metrics: Squadcast dashboard provides a quick snapshot of MTTA/MTTR allowing Tanner's on-call team to instantly deduce the volume and the speed at which incidents are resolved.
