Healthchecks is a cron job monitoring service which listens to HTTP requests and email messages ("pings") from your cron jobs and scheduled tasks ("checks"). It lets you update your job to send an HTTP request to the ping URL every time the job runs. When your job does not ping Healthchecks.io on time, then you will receive an alert!
If you use Healthchecks for your monitoring needs, you can now integrate it with Squadcast to route detailed alerts from Healthchecks to the right users in Squadcast. The below steps will help you set up Healthchecks and Squadcast integration.
Using Healthchecks as an Alert Source
Step1: Navigate to Services then to Service Overview. Next, select or search for your Service, expand the accordion and in the Alert Sources section, click Add.
Step2: Select Healthchecks. Copy the displayed Webhook URL to configure it within Healthchecks. Finish by clicking Add Alert Source finally click Done.
Please Note: When an alert source turns Active, it’ll show up under Configured Alert Sources, you can either generate a test alert from the integration or wait for a real-time alert to be generated by the Alert Source. An Alert Source is active if there is a recorded incident via that Alert Source for the Service.
Step1: Login to your Healthchecks dashboard. Select your desired project and head over to the Integrations tab.
Step2: Under the Integrations tab, select Webhook and click on Add Integration.
Step3: Now, enter the Name and paste the previously copied Squadcast Webhook URL in the URL placeholder for both down and up scenarios. Select POST as the HTTP Request method. Paste the json mentioned below inside the Request Body box. Then click on Save.
That's it, you are good to go! Your Healthchecks integration is now complete. Whenever Healthchecks fires an alert, an incident will be created in Squadcast for it. Also, when an alert is resolved in Healthchecks, the corresponding incident gets auto-resolved in Squadcast.
